Our Society

Our Society was established in 2015 just after the first sheep were imported into the UK. Our committee is composed of 10 members selected at the AGM. The committee meets every other month and is composed of 4 officers; Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer as well as 6 other general committee members who are all friendly and approcahble. Details of how to contact the officers are on the contact page.

Over the last couple of years we have worked to gain Valais breed classes at a number of agricultural shows throughout the country, these shows include; Devon county, Royal Bath and West, Royal Three Counties, Royal Cheshire etc. More information is available on our Agricultural Shows page.

In 2019 we ran our first judging/training day which was a huge success, we intend to make this an annual event. The day includes; Husbandry, Show preparation, Breed Standard and lots of Valais enthusiasts.

The Society also runs an annual show and sale, in 2019 this was held for the first time at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, Somerset and was a great success with exceptional prices achieved and a tremendous attendance.

One of our other roles is to represent the breed at NSA and other industry events.
